Western Sahara: US Department of State denounces Morocco’s human rights abuses
WASHINGTON (United States)- US Department of State has sent to the Congress a report criticizing Morocco’s human rights violations in Western Sahara, adding that the situation was a matter of serious concern.

The report was developed by the US Department in line with a law passed in December 2011 by the U.S. Congress, which requires the Department of State to ensure respect for human rights in Western Sahara before granting military assistance to Morocco.

Congress, through this law, conditioned US military assistance to Morocco by the right of access to Western Sahara, without any hindrance, for human rights groups, journalists and representatives of foreign governments.""
