Swedish parliament wants government to recognise Western Sahara

Today [5. December], a oppositional majority in the Swedish parliament voted to recommend that the Swedish government “recognises the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) as soon as possible.”
Western Sahara
If Sweden recognizes SADR – Western Sahara’s government in exile – it will be the first country within the European Union to do so. It is still unclear, however, what the intentions of the Swedish government are in this matter.
The European Union has played a negative role in Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara for some time, both through economical support to and illegal fisheries agreements with Morocco, who has been illegally plundering Western Saharan resources since it colonised the country in 1975.
SADR is a member of the African Union and has been recognized by over 80 nations throughout the world.
