Nation Adjourns Gdaim Izik Trial

The trial was attended by some 50 independent foreign observers, relatives of the victims and Moroccan rights activists.

The case dates back to November 2010, when Moroccan troops dismantled the Gdaim Izik camp, where more than 20,000 Sahrawis had set up tents to protest Morocco's social policy in Western Sahara. According to the official data, 11 people were killed in the ensuing clashes, including members of the security forces. Four civilians and 70 law enforcement officers were also wounded.
