Ali Saadoni Saharawi political prisoner released and kidnapped | Porunsaharalibre | @x1saharalibre

PUSL.- According to our source Ali Saadoni who ended his prison sentence yesterday, was released during the dawn but “disappeared” in front of Bouzakarn prison being put in a car by unknown persons that are suspected to be from the secret police.

The political prisoner has been ill treated and tortured during his entire detention time and his daily medicine for a chronical disease was never given to him.

Mr. Saadoni has visible scars of the ill treatment and torture and it is unclear if the “abduction” was intended just to prevent a reception at the exit of the prison by the saharawi activists or if his health status is so alarming that the Moroccan authorities want to hide him.

Ali Saadoni’s mother, reported that on Monday’s visit on August 5, her son had visible scars on both hands and wrists and was handcuffed. Saadoni told his mother that he has been in total isolation since June 21 when he was transferred at 3 am from El Aaiun prison in occupied Western Sahara to Bouzakarn prison in Morocco.

In addition to being in prolonged isolation for 48 days he was handcuffed all the time.
According to Saadoni’s mother, the political prisoner was in serious health and miserable general condition and the prison administration did not provide him with the medicines he needs daily for a serious chronic illness he suffers from.

The prolonged confinement to which he is subjected to exceeds the time limit set by Moroccan law and all conventions signed by Morocco and considered to be torture by the United Nations.

Being handcuffed all the time is extreme torture.

Refusing to give him the medicines he needs is an assassination attempt.

Upon arriving at Bouzakarn he was immediately placed in isolation.

Saadoni was sentenced to 7 months in prison and a fine of 5000 Dirham (480Euros).
Access to the trial was restricted, only assisting the mother and sister of Saadoni but the Saharawi activists were prevented from entering as well as the translator of two Spanish lawyers accredited by the Spanish law bar.

The defence lawyer denounced the various violations of procedural procedures and asserts that it was not a trial with the necessary guarantees to be considered a fair and impartial trial.

Saadoni denounced once again that he was a victim of torture and ill-treatment by the Moroccan authorities and denied all the accusations.

Saadoni was detained for raising flags of the SADR (Saharawi Arabic Democratic Republic) and defending Western Sahara self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions and was subsequently charged with possession of drugs and other false accusations.

Ali Saadoni is a well-known activist, who has gone through countless arrests and a sentence of more than 2 years. The ill-treatment to which he was subjected during his last detention led the Saharawi to sew his mouth in protest demanding human treatment.

Saharawi political prisoners are imprisoned as little time as possible in the occupied territories and as soon as possible transferred to prisons in Morocco.

These transfers violate international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention.

Morocco continues with impunity to torture and kidnap all Sahrawi who are known for their non-violent activism against the illegal occupation of the territory and for the implementation of United Nations resolutions.
