PUSL.- Sidahmed Lemjeyid, Saharawi political prisoner of the Gdeim Izik Group currently detained in Ait Melloul prison sentenced to life imprisonment, was taken yesterday (26th of September) to the hospital in Agadir after severe pain along his body.
At the hospital a scan was made of the left side of his body, namely, back and kidneys. He was returned to the prison where he was taken to the infirmary to make blood analysis. No explanation was given to Mr. Lemjeyid and he was put again in his cell.
Today (27th of September) Mr. Lemjeyid’s health status worsen and he was transported once again to the hospital again where he was seen by a doctor who prescribed several medications. According to this doctor, Mr. Lemjeyid suffers from acute swelling on his left side and his kidneys. This situation as well as the back pain is the result of frequent health complications since his arrest in 2010 and the severe torture he was victim of, as well as intentional medical neglect from the Moroccan authorities.
Mr. Lemjeyid suffers from several chronic diseases since his arrest regarding the kidney, back, impaired vision, excruciating pain all over his body.
His family demands immediate medical attention, an accurate diagnosis of his diseases and adequate medical treatment.
Mr. Lemjeyid is the president of CSPRON, a Saharawi Association that defends the Natural Resources of Western Sahara and Human Rights activist.
